Our professional practice must always prioritise the wellbeing of others. Employees shall promote the cultural, religious, and personal values of our tenants, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries during and outside working hours.
It is essential for employees to maintain a professional approach i.e. arriving to work on time, clocking in & out, dressing appropriately for work etc. It is a requirement for employees to carry their ID cards
at work. It is essential to participate in training & all supervisions.
Respect and collaboration must be a basic requirement for all interactions. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or gossip will not be tolerated. Employees must report any unacceptable behaviour im-
mediately and promote a supportive, inclusive work environment.
Examples of gross misconduct include theft, dishonesty, fraud, assault, bullying, harassment, serious breach of confidentiality or health and safety protocols. It’s also important to avoid general misconduct, such as lateness. Such behaviour prevents you from being seen as a reliable team player by your colleagues and trusted by the individuals we’re supporting.
Employees must immediately report any bad practice, safeguarding concerns or abuse through the appropriate channels, by following the correct reporting procedures, in line with company policy.

Every month at Accedo we acknowledge and celebrate the activity and development of our community.
These ‘moments’ are shared not just as good news stories, but in acknowledgement of the efforts, learning, dedication and creativity that helped them to happen.
At Accedo we value the contributions of the people we support and all colleagues in developing our services and problem solving.
We believe that people’s unique insights and ideas can help us to drive development and should be listened to and respected. We have several ways in which we involve and value the contributions of everyone in our community, these include regular resident’s meetings, surveys and the co-production of our monthly newsletter. We have plans to develop more activities and are open to trying new ideas to shape our organisation and community.
It’s been a challenging time for everyone around the world with the COVID-19 pandemic. On a business and personal level. Many are re-evaluating what’s important in life as well as from a career perspective.
One positive we at Accedo believe that we all can take from this storm, which we will eventually pass – together, is the generosity and compassion many within our country are showing.
Through social media we have seen strangers offering to go shopping for the elderly. We have seen food and goods being supplied to the critical care workers. We have seen individuals volunteer to help the care sector – and, we have even seen a remarkable 100 year old man raise millions for our NHS.
At Accedo we continue to care for those who need us. We are growing our business and looking to recruit within this challenging time. We have vacancies for full time and bank Support Workers in Hertfordshire and, London and Essex. As well as a vacancy for a full time Team Leader based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.
So if you are looking for a role where you can make a difference – we really would love to hear from you.
Together – lets care!

Rudo Chiura, Support Worker at our Abbey House service provides an insight to life as a Support Worker.
“Being a support worker is extremely rewarding and being frontline to those in need gives me a real sense of achievement knowing that I can make a positive difference. The most important thing for me is my interaction with the service users ensuring they are happy with the care they’re receiving. This is job satisfaction for me.
I am expected to be patient, calm, positive, trustworthy, able to ask for help, a team player, able to communicate effectively, possess duty of care and remember the importance of professional boundaries and the ability to take ego out of the equation.
I provide support to people with a variety of complex needs at one of Accedo’s supported living services, Abbey House. I provide support to service users in their own home to make choices and take control of their own lives; to take part in activities, daily chores, go shopping together, attend appointments, prepare meals, clean and encourage them to be part of their local community.
I recognise that when service users are given the right support, they can achieve much more than they imagine and live more independently.
If you are thinking of becoming a support worker and you have a passion for helping the needy and want to build a career whilst improving peoples lives, I would definitely recommend working for Accedo. The training provided for you enables you to become the very best. The support I have received has been brilliant. Of course there are challenges as every day is not the same, but you can see the difference you are making to someones life, so it’s worth it. I love my job, it has been life-changing”.

We are happy to announce that, after a successful consultation period with their current service users, their families and care managers, the decision has been made to deregister 22-24 Thurlestone Avenue and lease the building to Cloverley Properties who will be able to provide individual assured short hold tenancies to those individuals who have chosen to remain on site and take a support package from Accedo.
The building will provide 6 self-contained flats as well as a communal kitchen, dining room and garden for the use of tenants should they choose to socialise. The de-registration of Thurlestone Avenue has now been approved by the regulator and services will commence after the current service users have been officially informed, bringing the consultation to a happy conclusion at the beginning of April 2017.
